Harlem Royalty is a photographic series recreating my family across time: the same blood, a different decade, the same city block.
My grandmother, Mary Fredericka Lark-Mears, worked as a photographer in Harlem. My great-grandfather Frederick Lark was well known there before her. Mary Made Me Media carries her name, and this work carries her eye.
I call us the daughters of the Renaissance.
